Why so serious?

On Sunday, we drove back from the beach, ate lunch, dropped off everything at home and then headed straight to the theater to see The Dark Knight. If you're one of the few people that haven't already seen it, do it now.

You've seen the reviews, you've been exposed to all the marketing, and yes it really is that good. I don't have anything to add. :)

Back to the grind

We're back from the beach. The weather was great, and we only had minor issues from Cristobal.

I have a handful of pictures here. The pictures were taken with our new Canon SD790IS. So far, I like it quite a bit. The image stabilization and facial recognition seem to work very well in my limited use. I'll post a better review once I get a little more time on it.

360 Goodness

On Monday, Microsoft announced all kinds of goodies for the 360. Xboxic has a good rundown here.

I'm not 100% sold on the new interface. It seems like a cross between a PS3 and Wii. I guess we'll just have to see in a couple months when it's released. They also announced a price cut for the 20GB, down to $299. Overall, I think that was a pretty impressive press conference.

Life in the Fast Lane

After working out the kinks, I now have my new Road Runner plan up and running. I can tell a huge difference.....

Xbox 360 License Transfer tool

It's about time. Now you can easily transfer purchased items from one console to another. You can check it out here. Previously, you had to be logged into Xbox Live with your Gamertag to use the downloaded content on a new box. This was a problem if you wanted to play on a family member's Gamertag or if your internet was down. I'm glad to hear MS is listening to customers, even if it did take a while to implement.

I don't know if it's correct, but my account shows 428 Game Licenses and 26 Video Licenses available for move. Wow, I guess I've downloaded a lot of demos.

Randy & Caroline

On Saturday we went to Salisbury to attend Randy & Caroline's Wedding. Everything was very nice. The reception was at the Historic Salisbury Station. It's still used as an Amtrak station, but also has an awesome banquet area. You can find some pictures of the area here.

I <3 Peanut

Gizmodo has an interesting article about the evolution of the TiVo remote (aka The Peanut). Check it out here. The employee service awards are commemorative remotes, that's just awesome. Lara and I still say the TiVo remote is one of the best ever made.

We're back

Last week we went down to the beach with the family. We stopped in New Bern to pick up Sarah and Daniel from the airport. The town itself is very interesting, and reminds me of Wilmington. We have quite a few pictures here.

We had lunch in New Bern, and if you're visiting the area, be sure to check out Marina Sweets Cafe & Deli. The sandwiches and black bean hummus were amazing and very reasonably priced.

We also went to the aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. It was pretty good considering it was only $8, and only had fish native to NC. Their website can be found here. Now back to work, although thankfully it's a short week.
