Macworld keynote

So the big news is Apple's new products iPhone and Apple TV.

The phone is definitely cool, but I doubt I'll get one unless they reinvent it as a clamshell at some point in the future. I don't think that Apple TV is anything special. It's basically just an expensive media extender, and my Xbox 360 can do the same stuff. It's a necessary item for those that want to buy movies/television from iTunes though. Overall, I think the iPhone is cool, but nothing in todays announcement makes me want to rush out and buy anything from Apple Computer Inc.

UPDATE: Here's a video of the music interface. pretty slick......

My Samsung i830 does all the iPhone can and more. I can retrieve and respond to both my work and personal e-mail. I can use chat clients like AIM. I can work with Excel Spreadsheets as well as Word Documents (a huge help for work). I can compress DVD's onto my SD card and watch them during my flights. And I can play some older PC based games that have been ported over to the Windows Mobile OS (i.e. Doom, Quake, Tiger Woods Golf, etc.).

That being said, I'm not saying this isn't a cool phone. The display does look a little more Hi-Def than my i830. And the built in storage capacity is nicer than having to switch out all my SD cards. If they ever come to Verizon, I might have to consider it.
