First AQ20 run

Last night, in WoW I made my first guild run into The Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj aka, AQ20. It went ok, considering the server was experiencing some pretty nasty lag, and that we only had 16-17 players instead of the recommended 20. We completed our goal of clearing out the first wave of trash along with the first boss.

Nate may appreciate the fact that I received a nice mace called Doomulus Prime. It's an amusing homage to the following Foxtrot comic strip:

Coffee on the go

Most mornings, I eat something small like a granola bar. I'd love to pick up Caribou Coffee on the way to work, but it's not really convenient to do so because of traffic. Well now I have the best of both worlds, with General Mill's new Caribou Coffee Granola Bars. I couldn't find their product page, but here's a very short review. Overall, they're pretty tasty, although I think the sweetness could be dialed back a bit.

Game crazy

Over the weekend, I was definitely a bum. I spent most of the time playing video games of some sort. Texas Hold 'em on the 360 is actually quite fun and you can play against 7 other people online. I also played through the first 2 levels of Tomb Raider: LEGEND, also on the 360. I was lucky enough to pick it up from Best Buy for a mere $30, which is half of MSRP.

In WoW, I did a couple of guild runs and picked up some nice loot. My favorite was the Book of Ferocious Bite V, which was just created in the latest patch a week ago. I also picked up Blackhand's Breadth and the unpronounceable Zandalar Haruspex's Bracers.

Texas Hold 'em

If you want it, go get it now. For the next 48 hours, Texas Hold 'em on the 360 will be a free download for the full version. Afterwards, it will probably cost $5-$10 bucks. If you're lucky enough to get one of the Live Cameras, enjoy the innevitable game of strip poker......

Patch fallout

So with the new cross-realm PvP matches in World of Warcraft, everybody decided that it would be fun to sign up for the battlegrounds. The following picture was snapped at the signup point inside Ironforge. As you can see it's a little bit crowded which caused all kinds of lag issues with their new system. Fortunately today it seems to be much better. Click here for the full-size picture.

TiVo series 3 up and running

A couple spiffy shots of a beta unit running at some lucky guy's house. Big shocker, it took a little work to get the CableCard working properly. It was probably due to the cable provider though.

Back from the Beach

Last week, we went to N. Myrtle Beach for a little vacation.

I uploaded the pictures here and one short movie clip here. We had a good time, but didn't do anything terribly exciting other than hang around the pool and beach. And for those wondering, the baby is my niece, Kate.

I'm a sheep

Because Scott recommended it, I'm trying out a blog editor named Performancing which integrates directly into FireFox. So far it's pretty cool. Maybe it will replace w.bloggar as my publisher of choice.

Two thumbs up

Over the weekend we rented V for Vendetta and Match Point. Both movies were great, and I'd recommend them to just about anyone. Of course it doesn't hurt that they star Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.

If you ain't first, you're last.

Last night we went to see, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. It's a very funny movie, and Will Ferrell is always great even if his characters are pretty similar from movie to movie. I won't spoil any of the laughs, but if you haven't seen the trailer go check it out now.
