FreeGiftWorld impressions

Back in November, I signed up for a promotion with freegiftworld.com. It was for a free GameCube game (I chose Pikmin 2). I finally received the item yesterday, but I had to keep bugging them about it. First, they didn't show which offer I participated in. Then after that, I had to 'convince' them that I completed the offer. Then once I finally qualified, I still never received the item. I had to email support again to ask where it was, and then they promptly shipped it.

The good news, it was technically free, and their support were very prompt and curteous when replying. The bad news, it was probably more aggravation than it was worth. I guess they hope you'll just forget about it, and they won't have to provide the gift.

Overall, I'd probably recommend the Gratis sites over freegiftworld. (Free iPod nano, Free iPod, Free xbox 360, Free Mac mini, Free iPod shuffle or Free PSPs). I received my iPod only a month after first signing up for their program. Details here.

NOTE: I have received iPod #2 and a photo iPod which makes 3. I have pictures here.

The email address I contacted was supportfgw@freegiftworld.com

How many times did you have to contact Freegiftworld? They have quit responding to my e-mails and I finished my offers in January.

Posted by: Daniel at March 6, 2005 8:09 AM

Throughout the process, I had to email them about 6 times. Since you're using hotmail, be sure to check your Junk folder, as I think hotmail flags their mail as spam.

Good Luck

FreeGiftWorld is not a scam! They shipped me Half-Life Collector's Edition for free today. It was ordered through Amazon. My one offer was confirmed without incident.

Simply amazing

James, maybe you should read the post a little better. I never said it was a scam. I also received my item, but it took more effort to get it than it should have......

I signed up for a free iPod several weeks after I participated in the freegiftworld promo, and I still received the iPod 2 months before receiving credit from FGW.

Posted by: Jeff at March 11, 2005 9:40 PM

I participated in the Freegiftworld and supposedly in the final stage where they are suppose to ship it to me within 6 to 8 weeks. After reading all these articles I have tried to go back to the site and it has since been removed from the internet. Does anyone have an email address or contact phone number for these people?

I tried joining freegiftworld.com, I'm not getting any emails from them, I even checked my junk mail and still no emails. They're suppose to email you so you can get a password and check your status. I also tried joining one of their sponsors but I just wasted my money, still no emails from this website. DON'T JOIN THIS WEBSITE! They're no good.

I joined FGW in mid-January and have still not yet received my iPod Nano. In fact, my account still shows that I haven't completed any offers, even though it's been nearly 60 days since I completed all of them. They are slow to respond to emails, but I've located a phone number: 800-794-9023. The number is for AlliedPlus, which owns FGW. After leaving a message or two, they usually respond. Hope this is helpful to someone out there.

Posted by: Brian at March 6, 2006 8:48 PM

I tried with them for a piece of software. I went through the process and then at the last minute something strange happened. Now I can't get to their "contact" page as when I click the "contact us" link it just realoads the current page. I have noticed one thing though, I've had an increase in spam since then. Gee, I wonder if it's related.

I never got anything from them. No confirmation email, nothing. As far as I can tell it's a scam.

Posted by: Nick at March 7, 2006 6:22 PM

I feel your pain. I ran into the same trouble when I set up my account. I had to call them at 800-794-9023 and let them know what was going on. After leaving a message, they emailed me my username and password. I don't think it's a scam, but it definitely isn't very well-managed.

I need help getting sponser for my freepay site? could someone give me some advise. Thank you!

Posted by: Natalie at April 11, 2006 8:55 PM

Free Gift WOrld is what everybody been posting. THey are a scam!!! I have been another victim of their sales scam. I sign up hoping I would get the gift certificate for some airline of my choice. Follow the whole registration process, signed up for 5 offers so I could get what they consider a level 6 gift. I did "all the nine yards", for nothing.
WHen I go back to the site my email is not recognized in the login screen, and after trying 5 emails to customer service, they send me a password and said that my account was set up. Bull Sh*t! The stupid password doesn't work and ever since, they never replied to my other emails or calls to the 800# listed above.
FOr all I know, there are a ghost company and get this... the replies to the emails is only a standardize script, that has nothing to do with the question or inquiry you make!
Thanks goodness I was still on time to call back all these third party companies I signed up for, and cancelled the orders.
Anyone out there in the same situation should do the same thing and leave a bad feedback with all those vendors about Freegiftworld, so they know with whom they are partnering with!

Posted by: Cati Hart at April 20, 2006 10:49 AM

Scam.

Signed up on 1/17 for their plasma and did 6 offers as stated. They never responded to any emails or phone calls. Only 1 offer went complete. When it was well over 60 days (when they say to contact them), they never responded. I contaced the BBB finally in Nevada and it was only through them that they replied finally. And what they said was pure bs...they said I never completed the deals. When I tried to say I did and have the proof, they just ignored me.
They selectively fulfill gifts to make it look like they are in compliance but then don't fulfill the majority of gifts...probably less than 5% is my guess.

I have been recieving the same e-mail from them telling me they are trying to send me my $500:00 free Walmart gift card. But everytime I try to do anything with the e-mail it makes me go through the survey and order 3 things.Which I have yet to recieve any of.I keep getting things in the mail telling me I can order DVD from Disney. But none have yet to come that I have already ordered.
May 3, 2006 12:40
Is there anything we can do?

Posted by: Deborah at May 3, 2006 12:41 AM

Oh lord, where do I start. This company is so horrible!! I got suckered in to get a free laptop, did the signing up for the six offers that were required...ect. and just like so many of you-never received the elusive password and confirmation email. I went to their site to request help-they say an email will be sent with additional information-that's crap. I entered that request along with password request about ten times each on April 28, found this site and called AlliedPlus on May 2 and left a message mentioning what I knew about their awful rep and talked about a class-action lawsuit-nothing from them. I then emailed FGW with the address I found here on your site same day at 10:31 am , then another at 10:38am and another at 10:41am. I then sent another request at 3:15pm and they finally emailed me back at 5:04pm basically giving me a bogus password yet saying to "wait 24 hrs. for the accout to be updated accordingly"--which I did--like I said it was bogus. May 3 I emailed to say it didn't work. Called AlliedPlus for 3rd time. May 4 sent email. May 5 left message at AP saying that I was documenting everything so as to lodge a formal complaint with the BBB (this was 5th message left) emailed FGW for the 8th time and today emailed for the 9th time and left a message with AP for the 6th time. If I ever get a real password I can see that that will only be one scamming hurdle to overcome in this nightmare-part of me wants to cancel everything while I still have time, part of me doesn't want to give up. I'd like to send my story to Dateline or 60 minutes since they often investigate scams that are hurting many people, or proceed with a class-action lawsuit--I just don't know how many people have been screwed by them at this point. BBB has resolved some complaints according to their report on them...but do I take the chance of seeing this through and maybe lose more time and money? DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY THEM-STAY AWAY-EVEN IF I GET THE LAPTOP--IT WILL NOT HAVE BEEN WORTH ALL THIS HEADACHE AND MISERY. BEWARE. I will post here again when I decide what to do-maybe if all of us lodged compliants with BBB or wrote in to Dateline or emailed with threats of lawsuits they'd wake up and do something. It's disgraceful.

Posted by: Angel at May 8, 2006 1:04 PM

Wow, I began the whole sign-up process and signup for 4 offers. I needed two more but I was not given much of a choice on the last two offers. One: sign-up for DirecTV (I already have DirecTV). Two: apply for and finance a vehicle loan through RoadLond or whoever (no thanks, just finished paying off my 2004 VW). And three: buy a cappucino machine for $169 (don't need it not a coffee drinker). I wish they could just say it from the beginning that you have pick two from these last three offers. I bet 90% of the suckers who fall for this would not have gone through this BS process by knowing this. It was just a waste of my time and now I have to cancel all the offers I signed up for: Blockbuster, Columbia House DVD, BMG music, and Rhapsody Online. I will have to contact the BBB and file a complaint. I just hope they don't start bombarding my e-mail with junk. Then I will really be mad. Hope everyone gets their "free stuff."

I am very new and sometimes hesitate about participating in offers for free gifts. This site sucks. This is the third time I have went through these surveys and have not heard one thing from the site. Not to mention the Readers Digest bill I just received for a supscription I did not order...I would never order Reader's Digest. Who's going to handle this bill?!!!!!!
I'm not rich to keep ordering things I don't need or use. GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE AND START BY FIXING THE PROBLEM FOR THOSE OF US WHO TOOK THE TIME TO ENTER YOUR WEBSITE AND MAKE THESE HONEST COMMENTS. This is not fair. Please do right by us.

Posted by: Lanai at June 4, 2006 12:57 AM

Just to let everyone know the BBB has no legal power to make any business do anything all they can do is post the complaints so anyone can see them. So while filing with BBB is helpfull to everyone thinking about this company do not expect the company to comply to your wishes because you mention the BBB.

Good luck all

Posted by: matt at June 19, 2006 4:32 PM

Don't be fooled! This freegiftworld.com is a SCAM. To complete the last level you have to buy or "complete" 2 offers that will not cost you less than $200 each... Plus all the stuff you sign up for along the way. I now get over 200 spam emails everyday because I did this! Save yourself the trouble and skip over freegiftworld.com... To all the people who feel cheated... you may want to contact the companies that you signed up with and tell them that they are associating themselves with scam artists, and your loyalty and money will never support them again. At least this way maybe companies will close down this site.

I signed up for and XBox 360 back in October of 2005. Through mainy e-mails I was able to finally get all my items completed. I then printed the certificate and sent it in. I never heared anything else from the website again. I must have send 30 e-mails over the last 6 months or so looking for some sort of communication. No response. I thought the company may have gone under but it still appears they are doing business and excepting people signing up. I just found the number today and called and left a message. I will proabaly do this 3 or 4 more times. I will let you all know what I find out since it is the last step in receiving the gift.

Posted by: Casen at June 26, 2006 6:35 PM

Freegiftworld.com Bull.... with a capitol S . When have you ever gotten anything free? Everthing has a price but I believe somethings are not worth the trouble and this is one of them.

Posted by: maryl kelley at June 27, 2006 4:26 PM

Well I was able to somehow get in contact with the company and the responsed quite quickly to my problem and now I have an order# from gamestop.com for my XBOX 360. It was over 6 months since I completed and sent in my gift certificate and I wasn't even thinking about trying anymore. I am glad I did though. Though I would never recommend this site to anyone.

I found this website through google and found it helpful. For others of you out there still searching, I thought I would throw in my 2 cents of research. The BBB has contact information for Adteractive, Inc. (aka Free Gift World) as Telephone: 415-762-2266 Fax: 415-287-1432. I haven't gotten my gift yet, but a person did answer the phone. If you call, it will ask for an extension. I dialed ext. 666 which did not work but sent me to the receptionist. They will refer you to customer service, but here is your chance to talk to someone.
